The Medinose Plus anti-allergy unit uses cutting-edge phototherapy treatment (also called light therapy) to desensitise your body to the allergy it usually reacts to. The device can help decrease the effects for hayfever, animal allergies and dust allergies - and in some cases asthma that is triggered by cat or dog hair, or else dust.
There are various types of phototherapy treatments around, many using UV light which can cause health problems in large doses. However, Medinose uses natural red light only. This makes Medinose an excellent alternative treatment for those who may not be having success with medications, or prefer a drug-free treatment. It is also safe for children to use, as the treatment is very gentle.
How Phototherapy Treats Your Allergies
The red light emitted from a Medinose unit, gently and painlessly passes through the nasal membranes inside your nose (don’t worry, no lasers involved - just natural light!). This wavelength of light reduces the swelling or imflammation associated with allergic reactions, and gently ‘calms’ the body’s defensive functions - desensitising you to your allergic triggers (and preventing the release of histimines which cause the symptoms of allergies). After using a medinose, you may feel instant relief from nasal congestion, and also less coughing, itching of eyes, and other associated symptoms of your hayfever or allergy. The Medinose can also have a long-term effect and some users are able to stop using the device after several weeks or months, without a return of allergic symptoms.
